2013 Card Package…sooo FRESH.

Cards_2013_4MAD PROPS are in order, here.  My girl really pulled it out for this one.  The concept and art direction are none other than the cosmic brain child of Nicci Arone.  The package contains a small piece of outer space: a tektite called MOLDAVITE (known as the gemstone that fell to Earth as a result of a meteor collision nearly 15 million years ago which possesses high vibrational energy and is a powerful chakra opener at the heart). Yeah, I know it’s a little New Age, but so are we, and all we want to do is spread good energy and love in the new year.

So here’s to “vibing out” and getting creative together in 2013!!!  See you on the flip side.

PHOTOGENICS Promo Book 2013…

Photogenics Promo BookIt’s insane how much creativity goes down here at the agency…all the hard work and man hours, the fruits of which usually go straight into the hands of our clients and agency friends in other markets.

So, I want to take this opportunity to show off a project that we are extremely proud of:  The Photogenics 2012-2013 Promo Book, a showcase piece using editorials and photos from a shoot we produced in-house.  True Story: we did everything from the photography (by our Agency Director, Phira Luon) down to the styling (by yours truly) and layouts with Nicci’s help.  We shot a total of 16 girls in 2 days at my loft in Downtown, styled out with some ridiculous designer pieces courtesy of Forward by Elyse Walker and CLD Stylehouse.  The whole team came together including Agency Owner, Nicole Bordeaux, and BOOM!  A full 125-page collaborative effort, printed and bound; a tangible token of our blood, sweat, and tears.  The teamwork over here is off the chain!!!

Here’s the fun part:  We’ll be randomly choosing 10 readers to receive a hard copy of the Promo Book. All you have to do is look to your right and subscribe to the Photogenics Blog by Jan. 5th, 2013 to enter!

MAD THIRSTY x Monster Children…

Last week, I caught up with model/blogger/photographer/skater/social media bomber, Jesse Somera to find out if he could contribute some of his paparazzi skills for the blog, and he kindly obliged.  He just recently took some behind-the-scenes shots of our models at a Mike Piscitelli short film shoot for Monster Children, and I jocked them so hard I had to share.  The short film should be releasing pretty soon, but in the meantime peep these candids, and make sure to check out Jesse’s blog: Mad Thirsty.

that’s my girl….LEORE HAYON

I’m sitting here at the agency coming down from a crazy whirlwind of a Halloween weekend…tired and drained from 3 days of crazy fun and hard work.  Even though the “Case of the Mondays” is really taking a toll on my psyche, I’m still super jazzed because today is the day I get to announce the newest addition to our Photogenics Contributors: my girl, LEORE HAYON of The Girl Habit.

I’ve just recently gotten to know Leore as more than just a model we rep.  She’s a down ass chick who will go to a Grizzly Bear show with you at the drop of a hat and dance her ass off with you at her own birthday party at the Spare Room.  She’ll be giving us a little peak into the very essence of LA Culture as she sees it; the fashion, music, art, and people that make LA such a rad place to be young, wild, and free.

casting candids from OYSTER MAG…

And now some words from booker and resident Photogenics Mag photo editor/artist/photographer/new-ager, Nicci Arone:

“All day long when this casting was going on for Oyster Magazine I was getting emails from the models telling me how rad the photographers were and thanking me for sending them over to meet up.  That legit NEVER happens.

Combine Aussie talent, Mark Vassallo, with Cali native Mike Piscitelli in a Venice Beach bungalow, and apparently you have the chillest casting vibes in the city.  They even offered to let a couple of the guys and girls borrow their bikes to check out the Venice boardwalk.  Fuck working in an office, sometimes, eh?

On the real though, I was stoked that they were into so many of our talent.  We easily have the dopest ones on the west coast so I’m not at all surprised. (thumbs up!)” – N -

follow up…SAINT LAURENT Spring 2013

If you haven’t had a chance to peep the Saint Laurent Spring 2013 show today in Paris, you are in for a seriously sweet treat.  I mean, REALLY???!!! It’s like a rock ‘n roll warlock made love to a 70′s groupie fashion icon to make 50 model babies and appointed Hedi Slimane their blanket godfather.

S0, did he deliver?  Hell yeah, he did!  And with flying colors, I might add.  On top of that, a Photogenics girl in this Saint Laurent exclusive? Get out.  Check out Caitlin Holleran in all her runway glory.  Congrats, Caitlin!!! So proud of you!
